Heterotopia: Dome
2021
The concept of Heterotopia was proposed by Michel FOUCAULT in the 1960s. Different from the extreme fictional predictions of Utopia or Dystopia, Heterotopia refers to a space that exists outside the real world while reflecting it. Heterotopia forms the core of this project in which real-world samples are used to create a realistic scene in the micro view that exists but seems illusory.
In this dome edition, NANONANO reconstructs a macro scene in the micro world. The various possibilities for electron microscopic images are demonstrated through digital images by re-decoding and compiling the electron signal. Combining the characteristics of the dome, this edition provides an immersive viewing experience filled with spectacular landscapes.
About Artist
NANONANO
NANONANO is an art group founded by artist HSU Hsun-Hsiang and materials engineer HUANG Yin-Hao.
