L. T. Y.

L. T. Y. is a live improvisational performance that merges analog and digital modular synthesis, incorporating the open-source platform VCV Rack. Rather than centering on melody or rhythm, it focuses on listening as a bodily experience, guiding the audience through the constant mutation of sonic particles.

Through real-time sampling and modulation, the performer navigates the threshold between control and release, generating a stream of unstable yet fluid sonic structures. These sounds emerge discretely along the timeline, only to be recomposed live into a transient musical fabric.

L. T. Y. seeks to summon the raw force and subtle variances of sound, inviting the audience into an indeterminate sonic terrain—one where emergence and transformation are felt intuitively, in the immediacy of the present moment.

About  Artist

LAI, Tsung-Yun

Tsung-Yun Lai began his practice with sound and image productions, exploring mixer feedback, environmental sounds, and audio-visual performances. His video works draw on folk rituals and AI art, blending noise and test tones into immersive, enigmatic soundscapes. Since 2013, he has curated Taiwan’s leading sound art platform, Lacking Sound Festival.
